The process of mixing the paints stimulates my imagination. The lush texture of oil paint on canvas is an exciting portal into which I am starting to add layers of hot wax to create a depth of field which has eluded me with just oil paint. I look for images that cause my heart to leap, active, mid-flight narratives that speak of something about to happen, of the possibility of magic.
